About Shape Wellbeing

What we do

We run training courses of various lengths broken into 5 hour modules. Currently, due to Covid, these courses are all run via Zoom. This has had a surprising benefit in that students can access the courses without the additional cost or inconvenience of travel. With a mixture of theoretical and practical material, we carefully take you through how you can in fact make real and genuine changes in your life that will not only benefit you, but those around you.

It’s not magic, but the results are astounding. The Introductory module is now being offered completely free of charge. The self care course consists of the two Foundation modules. You can even go right up to diploma level. This can be for you own benefit or you can convert your skills into a new income stream. It’s up to you. The point of our course is it’s all about realising and releasing your potential to be a better version of yourself.

... a better you ...

The programme of modules evolved as a result of Robert’s alcohol addiction in 2012 and his subsequent recovery.

Back in 2012 he was a burnt-out, alcoholic and homeless.

By 2019, he was:

  • A successful, sober business person.
  • A volunteer at addiction support groups that had helped him.
  • A fully qualified Counsellor and Psychotherapist.
  • A qualified supervisor for counsellors.
  • CEO and Co-Founder of Shape Therapy.

Robert says:

“The main reason we have launched ‘Shape Wellbeing’  was the feeling that we are becoming more and more detached from our fellow man, we seem to be losing our connections, and we believe that Shape Therapy can help to offer a way to reconnect,  by  giving us a better understanding of ourselves. This will eventually lead us to be better versions of ourselves and, if we choose, enable us to offer this to others in our lives. The bridge in the picture above represents the transition from a previous life to a new life.”

The 7 Principles

Shape Wellbeing is not ‘doing’ therapy to you. It is focused on helping you to listen to and understand yourself so that you can just ‘be’ and in turn implement changes for yourself and others. This is called ‘Reflective Practice’ which is described briefly below.

What makes Shape Wellbeing unique is our use of what we call the 7 Key  Principles. These are ways of ‘being’ that when you follow them and truly integrate then into you life, so many things will fall almost magically into place. These principles are listed opposite and the ‘Ways of Being’ tab has more detail.

Reflective Practice

Reflective Practice is something everyone can do with a little effort and the right training. It’s about listening to what is being said and then trying to identify the feeling, or the emotion, behind the narrative. In Shape, we say, Follow the Feeling and Reflect. You can do this at whatever level you like within Shape  – see the Courses page.
